The Bigger Happiness Makes Us Suffer

Ramu bought a bicycle. He was really happy that he would not have to walk 4 kms to work and also would save time and fatigue.

But the next day at work he saw Prakash coming on a scooter. O Wow!

Everyone was asking Prakash - When did you buy this scooter?
Wow! You are a Sahib now.

When Ramu saw all this, his happiness turned into sadness.
He thought - I wish I had enough money to buy a scooter. Look, how convenient it is and then everyone respects a person who has a scooter.

On the other hand, Prakash was going back home when a car splashed some muddy rain water on to his scooter and car.

Prakash became extremely sad.
He thought - What use is this scooter that it cannot protect me from the car splash? I wish I had enough to buy a small car to stay protected from rain and splashes.

Moral Of The Story

Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj teaches us the nature of the material happiness. We get some temporary happiness when we get something we did not have. But when we see someone with a thing of bigger pleasure, we become sad. We forget the happiness that we had been bestowed to us.
