We Are All Intoxicated

Paras came from a middle class family in Rohtak. He worked hard and topped his MBA program
from a reputed university in India. He was immediately offered a job in London. This was a turn in his life.

Paras flew to London and joined his company. The dividends were huge. He soon was promoted as a manager and his salary was 80,000 pounds in a year - something that his dad did not earn in his entire life. Year over year, Paras continued to rise. He earned respect both in India and UK.

Apart from the success in his career, Paras very quickly became a rich man. And along with the riches came the bad company - the parties, the dances, the gambling and the drinking. Paras became a drunkard. Every day when he would come back from work, he would keep drinking till he fell asleep.

Once Paras visited his friends in India. A party was planned and everyone invited. Everyone enjoyed the experiences of Paras. They kept drinking till after midnight. Paras then bade good bye to everyone and started walking towards his house. But there came a pit and Paras slipped into it. But since he was heavily drunk, he fell asleep there.

Manav, his neighbor saw him in the pit and asked him -  Hey Paras! Go home. What are you doing here?
Paras replied - What is your problem? I am at my home only.
Paras really thought he was home.
Manav tried to help Paras home but he started hitting Manav shouting - Where are you taking me?

Moral Of The Story

Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj tells us that we the fallen souls are suffering because of our
ignorance. We do not realize that this world is not our home, it is only a temporary lodge. We hate the Saints who try to lead us to our true home. And instead love the world with the false expectation of happiness.

The pleasures of the world are fleeting and mixed with misery and not true happiness. We should discover true happiness which is ever-lasting, ever-increasing and unlimited. And that can only be found in God.
