There was once a Titihari bird who laid eggs on the ocean shore. But one day, a huge wave came and
her eggs were washed away in a flash.
Titihari was angry - The ocean took my eggs away. I vow that I will avenge this by drying the ocean.
Titihari is a little bird. She would take a drop of the ocean in the beak and throw it outside. And then bring a few grains of sand and drop them into the ocean.
Other Titiharis saw this and said - This is injustice but one titihari cannot dry the ocean all by herself. So they came and started doing the same to help.
Then other types of birds also joined in to help.
Narad Ji was passing by. He saw the scene, laughed and said to himself - These little birds are trying to do an impossible job. Let me share this with Garud as to what the people of his clan are doing.
He went to Garud and said – Do you know what is happening on earth? The ocean took one bird’s eggs and infinite number of birds are trying to dry the ocean.
Garud could not withstand this.
He went to the earth and said to the birds - I am here to help because we all belong to the same clan of birds.
He then made a huge form and started churning the ocean.
The ocean was frightened and asked Garud - O Garud Ji Maharaj! What is my mistake? Why are you trying to hurt me?
Garud explained that the ocean had taken the Titihari's eggs which was so unjust. If the eggs were returned, the aggression would stop.
The ocean immediately returned the eggs.
Moral Of The Story
Jagaduru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj narrated this story to explain how useful it is to have a powerful person of the same clan because members of the same clan would normally help each other in the hour of need.
In the same way, we the jeev and God belong to the same clan. He is sun and we are His rays. We both are chetan. Since we are suffering in the world, if we do try to attain Him, He will certainly help us.
