A primary school in Chennai took its kids for a picnic to Marina beach. The kids were having fun.
Some were playing with a ball, some were racing and others were swimming. There was screaming all around.
The teachers who came with them were worried as they were losing control over the kids. Sharan, the science teacher thought of an idea. She whistled and collected all the kids around her.
Then she said - Does anyone know how deep is the sea?
There was total silence. No one answered.
Kartik, a 4th grader then said - May be we can measure. I have a scale with me.
And then the others joined in - I can measure too.
Sharan said - Alright. Lets do it. But do not go too far in the water. And let us get back together in 10 minutes. OK?
Then the kids were busy measuring the depth of the sea with whatever scale they found. A few minutes later, they all collected back.
Sharan was surrounded by them.
Someone said, it is 1 foot. Another said - No it is 2 feet, I measured it with this scale. And so the number reached 10 feet in a matter of seconds.
And then Sharan said - You are all right because you did measure with your scales. But the depth each measured is according to the size of the scale you used. Isn't it?
Everyone said - Yes teacher.
Sharan then explained that the sea was huge and very deep and cannot be measured with the scales the kids had.
Moral Of The Story
Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj redicules that no one measured the depth of the ocean, instead came and told the length of their scale.
The story teaches us that in just the same
way, God is infinite in size, quality and powers. He cannot be known by one's intellect. If anyone claimed that he was able to measure God, he would only tell the extent of his intellect and not God.
