It was a long winter in Boston. People had to pray to see the sun, so infrequent was it. As the spring
broke in, Jason and Jenny came out to the lake with their little daughter Maria.
Jason - Well Jenny! Look at the sun. It feels so good. Seriously, I am so relieved that spring is finally here.
All three of them looked in the sky at the sun and smiled. There is no doubt that in cold regions of the world, the presence of sun is truly appreciated.
But then while looking in the waters of the lake, Maria called her parents - Look Dad! Look Mom! Another sun in the water.
Jason and Jenny smiled. Jenny said - No baby! The one in the water is not sun. It is only a reflection of sun. You will understand when you grow up.
Moral Of The Story
Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj refers to this story to teach us that just like the Sun in the water is only a reflection of Sun, the Jeev or the soul is also a power of God.
Also, the Sun is always one but it could have infinite reflections. In the same way, God is one but the number of Jeev are infinite.
Finally, the Sun is the cause of reflection. Hence, the Sun can exist without the reflection. However, the reflection cannot exist without the Sun. Similarly, God can exist alone as in Mahapralay but the Jeev has no identity without God.
